Further and Higher Education

There are very few further and higher education lawyers in England & Wales acting for the student. Salima Mawji has built an excellent reputation as a specialist in the area and heads up the Further & Higher Education Department at Match Solicitors. She is assisted by a Solicitor, Rishi Mital, and a Trainee Solicitor, Catriona Hauser.
Rishi has acted on a number of matters before internal disciplinary and academic misconduct panels, has advised and guided students through the procedure for the Office of the Independent Adjudicator for Higher Education (OIA), represented students at Fitness to Practice Panel hearings and brought claims for damages in breach of contract, negligence and discrimination claims.
Catriona has a background in special educational needs and is specialising in this area within the Firm.
Our work spans the entire spectrum of university and college related education issues including internal appeals, allegations of collusion or plagiarism, failure in examinations, cheating, discipline issues, exclusions, admissions, appeals to the Office of the Independent Adjudicator for HigherEducation (OIA) and litigating in breach of contract/negligence/discrimination claims.
If you think you have not had a fair hearing, have been generally treated unfairly or you think you have not received value for money, you are entitled to turn to the law for justice. If you have to face a complaint, we will help you to state your case clearly and forcefully and we will ensure that the decision is fair and reasonable. Many students are accused of plagiarism, collusion or cheating in examinations. We can assist you with the internal procedures of the university, fighting your case as carefully and thoroughly as possible. With our access to a wide range of specialist barristers, we are able to secure sound representation at any hearing.
Whatever your issue may be at college or university, we are able to assist.
